When we’re hurt by someone else’s behavior, the mind immediately focuses outward: How do I respond? How do I get even? How do I make sure this never happens again? Meanwhile, a deeper question quietly waits underneath: What inside me is hurting, and what inside me is capable of love anyway?

Squirrel has escalated a rude beach encounter into a full military operation. The Flower Capybara isn’t defending the bully; they’re simply redirecting attention from the external drama to the internal wound.
